What is Reflexology and how does it work?
Reflexology uses the feet as a map, or mirror of the whole body. By applying pressure to certain parts of the feet, the whole body can be ‘re-tuned’ and brought back into balance. The aim is to stimulate the body’s own healing processes in order to keep it balanced. Reflexology does not aim to diagnose or cure. It is a non-evasive therapy, encouraging relaxation and stimulation, helping your body re-build its energy resources and recover from illness and disease and the helps activate the circulation and nervous system.
- Reflexology may benefit the following conditions
- Pregnancy and childbirth
- Hormonal imbalances
- Digestive issues such as IBS
- Sleep disorders
- Respiratory issues
- Migraines and headaches
What happens during a treatment?
At the beginning of the first session a consultation takes place to determine present and past health and lifestyle. Please allow longer for first visit. The reflexology treatment is given in a comfortable reclining chair and lasts for around 60 minutes Afterwards feedback is given and a treatment plan is discussed if required.
How many treatments will I need?
This varies from person to person. I recommend around 6 treatments, but you may feel benefits after 1 or 2 sessions.
Who is Reflexology suitable for?
Reflexology is safe for all ages. Reflexology is considered safe during pregnancy, provided all is well with your pregnancy. The following contraindications where you should avoid treatment include:
- First Trimester
- Other Pre-term labour – onset of labour at any time before 37 weeks gestation
- Hydroamnios – if there is too much amniotic fluid around the baby after 32 weeks gestation
- Deep Vein Thrombosis
- Any other complications where you require obstetric care
Where does it take place?
All sessions take place from the comfort of your own home. Male clients only by referral only please.

First session please allow 15 minutes extra for consultation (no extra charge)
If you live more than 2 miles from Brockley then a £2 surcharge will be payable.
